Our Client’s High Voltage Electronics Corporation is the world's leading independent manufacturer of dc high voltage power supplies, x-ray generators and Monoblock® x-ray sources. The company designs and manufactures custom and standard DC high voltage power supplies ranging from 120mW to 150kW with voltages from 250V to 500kV. Their high voltage power supplies are used in a vast array of applications serving the medical, industrial and scientific communities.
The Role
To design and project manage the build, test and introduction of production test equipment for both new designs and existing high voltage power supplies.
Main Responsibilites:
• To be involved in all new design projects to ensure both production and development test equipment is appropriate and available in a timely fashion.
• Design and project manage the build and commissioning of new test equipment for the production test of high voltage power supplies both at sub assembly level (if necessary) and at final test.
• Ensure test procedures are available and reflect the test equipment being used.
• Review, update and improve existing production test equipment.
• Ensure that any test equipment is safe, effective, efficient and meets the needs of the end users (production test personnel).
• Assume ownership of the assigned projects from conception to completion and give continued support while in service.
Skills Required
Background in electronic design and some experience in Labview programming. Experience in a production test environment would be an advantage as would familiarity with the TestShell test development environment. A professional or academic qualification in the field of electronic engineering
• The individual must be self motivated and able to work with a minimum of supervision.
• Knowledge of standard lab instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
• The position requires the ability and commitment to maintain focus on all design efforts while supporting simultaneous programs.
• Able to read and interpret customer/internal unit specifications for the purpose of determining test equipment requirements and test limits.
• Ideally knowledge of TestShell, some Labview programming knowledge and experience would also be an advantage.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate with both design and production personnel.
• A good basic knowledge of electronic design
• Experience performing setup, test, repair of electronic assemblies would be an advantage.
